EnerMech appoints first Asia director to drive business expansion in region
EnerMech, headquartered in Aberdeen, has appointed its first Asia Director to support its growing operations in the region.
James Phu Nguyen holds the newly created position after spending more than 15 years in the oil and gas industry.
He joined the engineering firm from Baker Hughes PPS, where he held the position of Area Manager for the Far East.
Based in Malaysia, he has held a number of âseniorâ technical sales and operating positions at a number of oil and gas service companies in Asia and Australia.
In his new role, Mr. Nguyen will be responsible for leading EnerMech’s staff in Asia with a focus on growing the business in existing markets.
He will also be responsible for expanding the company’s current activities in Brunei, Indonesia, India, the Philippines and Sakhalin Island.
A âcentralâ part of its work will be to expand EnerMech’s offerings in process, pipelines and umbilicals (PPUs), cranes, hydraulics and industrial services in the region.
EnerMech backed by private funds has been active in Asia since 2009 and currently employs workers at its bases in Malaysia, Singapore, India, South Korea and China.
Mr. Nguyen said, âEnerMech enjoys an enviable reputation across Asia, so it is an exciting time to join such a respected company as it prepares for a period of sustained growth.
âAs the industry continues to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic, optimism is renewed as delayed projects restart and EnerMech is uniquely positioned to support this influx of activity.
âI am delighted to join the team and look forward to working closely with the entire global leadership team to deliver our innovative solutions to the region.
Paul McCarthy, Regional Director for Asia-Pacific, added, âJames has a strong network in Asia and his in-depth understanding of the region and its requirements will be extremely valuable to the company as we implement our growth strategy.
âWith extensive experience delivering multi-million dollar energy projects and leading large international teams, James is uniquely positioned to lead our operations.
âWe have seen increasing demand for our services throughout the Asia-Pacific region and already have a number of large-scale projects underway in the oil and gas and industrial markets.
âWith operators now planning substantial spending on oil and gas infrastructure, we are well positioned to provide our services to drive safer and smarter operations across Asia. “
